Special Events and Fellowship at St. John's Lutheran Church

St John's members enjoying a meal
St. John's Lutheran Church holds bi-monthly fellowship meals and Bible study on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights of each month. Dinner begins at 5:30 PM - Program from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM. Meals are held weekly during Advent and Lent.

Periodically, especially during church seasons, St. John's Lutheran has special events and/or hosts or works with other church congregations or community organizations to bring special events or activities to the area.

Wednesday Nights Together in Advent - Behold Our Light Vespers Service
Wednesdays, December 6, 13 & 20, 2017 - Dinner - 5:30 pm + Worship, 6:15 pm.
We gather for sung prayer, using beautiful Advent vespers service entitled Behold Our Light.

Christmas Pageants - Sunday, December 17, 2017 - 8:15 am and 10:30 am. A different pageant will be presented at each service.
+ The Christmas Story with interactive congregation participation will be presented during the 8:15 am worship service. Members of the congregation will be invited to participate.
+ The Childrenís Christmas Pageant will be presented during the 10:30 am worship service.All youth and children are invited to participate. This retelling of the birth of Jesus, featuring our youngest as angels, shepherds, magi, and holy family is always a blessing!

ELCA Youth Gathering 2018 Kickoff Lunch - Sunday, December 17, 2017 - Noon
ALL are invited! The youth will have their Youth Gathering Kickoff lunch following the 10:30 am service. Please join the youth as they serve lunch, share plans, and reveal their traveling-yard-decor for the2018 ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas. See for details.

Youth Christmas Party Lock-in - Friday, December 29, 2017 - 6 pm to 8 am, Saturday, December 30, 2017
All youth, members and friends in grades 6-12 are invited to a Christmas Party Lock-in! Two things to bring: a fun or funny gift (maximum $10) to exchange; and if you wish, party food to share! See for details.

St. Johnís Winter Retreat 2018 at Lutherock - Saturday-Monday, February 17-19, 2018 - Presidentís Day weekend
For youth, families, adults - ALL friends and members invited! (with one day of snow skiing, boarding, tubing and/or ice skating)
Registration materials will be available in November.

All St. Johnís members and friends are invited to participate in this retreat. Youth, families with or without children, adults Ė anyone who likes winter fun is welcome and encouraged to join the fun! Leaving on Saturday morning and returning Monday evening, this retreat combines one day of skiing/snowboarding/snow tubing with lots of other winter retreat activities: fun and games, devotions and worship, food and laughter Ė and maybe even a snowball fight!
