Lutheran Men in Mission at St. John's Lutheran Church
Our Lutheran Men generally meet on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 am in the church, for fellowship and Bible Study.
All men of St. John's are welcome. Reservations are not required! Some meeting times change and are posted on the St. John's website.
The primary function of the menís group is to promote brotherhood and to support our church.
The fund raisers that the menís group does go to our youth/children to go to Lutheridge/Lutherock for camp. Other projects that our group supports are Helena House Bingo, and any other needs brought before the board and voted on by our members.
Projects that our group uses to raise these monies include: All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Yearly Yard Sale, BBQ Chicken Dinner, and the sale of aluminum cans that are collected.
St. Johnís Lutheran Men in Mission had a great 2015 year, and are looking forward to another! We raised over $3,300.00 to send 17 youth/children and our Pastor to summer camp.
St. Johnís Lutheran Men are proud to have another fund raiser that supports all men who goes to the One Year to Live Retreat weekend. This is through the Robert P. Baldwin Memorial fund that was established in May 2013. Anyone wishing to support this memorial may donate to this fund thru any of the groupís officers or contacting the church office.
As of date we have fifteen who have attended a retreat: Randy A. Collins, Arno Moellenhoff , Pastor Shannon Mullen, Chris Morton, Tim Bockelman, Denny Burnette, Christian Dale, Daniel Dor, David Gay, Jim Jones, Alton Fanning, Hampton Long, Deon Mock, Gordon Haigler and Roger Holley.
The menís group is proud that through this fund we can support each man that goes thru with a $75 tuition scholarship. We are looking forward to supporting many more men as each retreat comes. St. Johnís group is the only menís group we know of which supports each and every man who attends.
The Saint Johnís Lutheran Men in Mission wishes to thank everyone for their support of our ministry, and invite all men to join in!
